Connecting Rod Bearings
Big end bearing shells in standard and undersize grades, matched to the rod bore so oil clearance stays within OEM specification. Supplied in sets for full engine overhauls.
A connecting rod, also called a con rod, links the piston to the crankshaft, converting the piston's reciprocating motion into rotation and carrying the full combustion load on every power stroke. Komotashi supplies new forged steel engine connecting rods for Cummins, CAT, Volvo, Komatsu and Sinotruk heavy-duty diesel platforms, manufactured to OEM dimensional standards so they install without modification.
Each rod is forged from 42CrMo steel with an I-beam shank, then normalized, machined and shot peened to resist fatigue under high cylinder pressure and continuous load. Big end and small end bores are honed to tolerance, and rods are weighed and grouped in matched sets so a full six- or twelve-cylinder engine stays balanced.
Rods are available on their own or as a complete unit with rod bearings, small end bushings and connecting rod bolts. Send your OEM part number or engine model and we will confirm the correct rod and export pricing.
Connecting rods and matched components for overhaul programs and fleet maintenance.
Forged from 42CrMo steel and shot peened, so the rod holds up to sustained cylinder pressure where a cast rod would fatigue.
Center-to-center length and both end bores are held to OEM drawings, so rods install without machining, shimming or reaming.
Rods are weighed and grouped into sets, keeping balance within tolerance across a full six- or twelve-cylinder engine.
Order bare rods, or complete with rod bearings, small end bushings and connecting rod bolts from a single part number.
Every rod can be quoted as a complete unit, with the matched components supplied under one part number.
Big end bearing shells in standard and undersize grades, matched to the rod bore so oil clearance stays within OEM specification. Supplied in sets for full engine overhauls.
Bronze bushings pressed and honed into the small end to carry the piston pin. Worn bushings are a common cause of piston pin noise, so we supply them matched to each rod.
Torque-to-yield rod bolts, supplied new with every rod set. Designed to be tightened once to a specified stretch and replaced at every rebuild.
