Cylinder Block

Cylinder Block

The cylinder block carries the crankshaft, liners and main bearings and sets the alignment every other part bolts to. Komotashi supplies diesel cylinder blocks for Isuzu, Caterpillar, Volvo, Yanmar, Cummins, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Scania, Hino and Kubota engines. Coverage runs from Isuzu 4JB1, 4HK1 and 6HK1 to Caterpillar 3306, C4.4, C6.4 and C7.1; plus Volvo D4D, D6E and D7E; Yanmar 4TNV88 to 4TNV98T; Cummins 6CT, NT855 and ISF3.8; Mercedes OM457, OM471 and OM651; Mitsubishi 4M40 and 6D34; and Scania DC12 and DC13.

Blocks are supplied bare or dressed with liners, sleeves and main bearings. Give us the OEM number, engine model and the build form you need and we will quote the matching block.

Why Choose Our Cylinder Blocks

Heavy-duty blocks engineered for rebuild quality and dimensional accuracy.

  • Precision Fit

Machined to OEM references for reliable installation and long service life.

  • Material Integrity

Casting and forging quality controlled for heavy-duty thermal and load conditions.

  • Model Coverage

Wide coverage across mainstream diesel platforms for fleets and rebuild shops.

  • Pack & Ship Ready

Anti-rust protection and export crates designed for ocean freight.

Applications

Truck cylinder blocks for line-haul and distribution fleets, excavator cylinder blocks for construction machinery, generator cylinder blocks for standby and prime power, and marine cylinder blocks for workboats. The diesel cylinder block is the same casting across several of these platforms, so the engine code decides the match rather than the vehicle.

Bare blocks and assemblies

Blocks are supplied as a bare cylinder block, or dressed with liners, sleeves and main bearings where your rebuild needs them pre-fitted. A replacement bare cylinder block is the usual order for workshops that machine and fit their own liners; a heavy duty engine cylinder block assembly suits fleets that want the rotating parts checked before installation.

What the block carries

Each diesel engine bare cylinder block we quote is described by the parts it accepts: cylinder block liners and cylinder block sleeves, cylinder block main bearings, the cylinder block oil gallery and the cylinder block water jacket. Tell us which of these you are reusing and we confirm the casting is the right one.

Condition

New, remanufactured, used, original and aftermarket cylinder blocks are quoted separately, and the condition is printed on the quotation. Blocks for excavator applications are checked against the machine model as well as the engine code.

Questions buyers ask

Do the blocks come with liners fitted?

Either way. A bare cylinder block ships without liners; a dressed block can be supplied with liners, sleeves and main bearings fitted when you specify it.

Can you supply a used or remanufactured block?

Yes, alongside new, original and aftermarket castings. The quotation states the condition.

How do I know the block fits my engine?

Send the OEM number, the engine model and the machine or vehicle model. We check bore, deck and mounting before packing.

Cylinder Block FAQ

Can you match my engine model or chassis?

Yes. Share the OEM model, serial plate photo or vehicle application and we will confirm the correct assembly or compatible options.
